Evervinum: Mendez Moya tasting at El Lugar del vino (Granada) / Cata de Méndez Moya en Lugar del vino

In these first days of Autumn, María Córdoba has just introduced the organic Mendez Moya winery to a Australian group of tourists in a fashionable and charming wine shop in Granada “El Lugar del Vino”, with serveral rooms for tastings and events, especially "La Capilla de Gomérez".

En estos primeros días del otoño, María Córdoba acaba de presentar la bodega ecológica Méndez Moya a un grupo de turistas australianos en una encantadora vinoteca de moda de Granada: "El lugar del vino" con varios espacios para catas y celebraciones, especialmente "La Capilla de Gomérez"

María went well with the person in charge and organiser Fernando Infante and his staff, Elena and Francesca, a fun and likeable translator.

María se compenetró perfectamente con el responsable y coordinador, Fernando Infante, y su personal, Elena y Francesca, una divertida y simpática traductora.

The tasting consisted on serving 4 wines paired with the special appetizers of the pub. The wines were: Sauvignon Blanc 2017, a new red coupage whose new label emphasises its features of “vegane and organic” wine (100% sulphites free). The next ones were a single variety of Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 and finally a 2010 red wine coupage of Tempranillo, Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon which apparently was the favourite wine for the most of the group, although the white was preferred mostly by the women.

La cata consistió en servir 4 vinos con maridaje de los especiales entrantes del local. Los vinos fueron: Sauvignon Blanc 2017, un nuevo coupage tinto cuya etiqueta enfatiza sus características de vino "vegano y ecológico" (100% libre de sulfitos). Los siguientes fueron un monovarietal de Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 y, finalmente, un tinto del 2010, coupage de tempranillo, syrah y cabernet sauvignon, que posiblemente fue el vino favorito para la mayoría del grupo, aunque el blanco fue preferido sobre todo por las señoras.

The nice Australian group arrived tired because of a long journey walking and sightseeing around the impressive city of Granada. However, the more time went by, the more energy seemed to recover the participants. First of all thanks to the Maria´s explanation about different and interesting details of the winery and then, owing to the magical wine effects, of course.

El agradable grupo australiano llegó cansado a causa de la larga jornada caminando y haciendo turismo por la impresionante ciudad de Granada. Sin embargo, cuanto más tiempo pasaba, más energía parecían recuperar los participantes. Primero gracias a la explicación de María sobre los diferentes e interesantes detalles de la bodega y, después, debido a los mágicos efectos del vino, desde luego.

The attendants did many questions to María about the coupages, the winery, the wine-maker and the way of making wine in Spain.

Everyone finished pleased, taking photos and congratulating María and Fernando, the organiser of the event, on that loveable evening.

Los asistentes realizaron muchas preguntas a María sobre los coupages, la bodega, el bodeguero y la forma de elaboración del vino en España. Todos terminaron complacidos, echando fotos y felicitando a María y Fernando, el coordinador del evento, por esa fantástica velada.
