In the beginning of July María Córdoba made a nice trip to Scotland, the country of the deep green hills and its treacherous history. From the awesome city of Edimburgh to the nature reserves of the Highlands and the lakes, from the wines coming from the old colonies as South Africa and Australia to the renowned Scottish whisky. This is a short report of the visit.
En los primeros días de julio, María Córdoba realizó un precioso viaje a Escocia, el país de las colinas de intenso verdor y su accidentada historia. Desde la increíble ciudad de Edimburgo hasta los parques naturales de las Tierras Altas y los lagos, desde los vinos procedentes de las antiguas colonias como Sudáfrica y Australia hasta el renombrado whisky escocés. Esta es la breve crónica de la visita.
As well as excellent museums like The Scottish National Gallery where one can contemplate pictures of Velázquez, Rubens, El Greco, Constable, Doré..., the old Royal Mile, The Castle, Princess Street or Calton Hill, the hallmarks of Edimburgh...

The chance to go deep into the Highlands lead us to one of the best distilleries of the area: Dalwhinnie. Maybe the highest distillery of Scotland (1164 feets above the see level). There one can taste their 15 years old single malt whisky paired with a selected handmade chocolate. Surprising!!
La oportunidad de adentrarse en las Highlands nos llevó a una de las mejores destilerías de la zona: Dalwhinnie. Posiblemente la destilería a mayor altitud de Escocia (1164 pies por encima del nivel del mar). Allí pudimos catar su whisky puro de malta de 15 años acompañado de una selección de chocolate artesano.
Back to the busy and cosmopolitan Edinburgh, María came round the sunny streets close to the Royal Mile full of wine and spirits shops.
