Alameda Restaurant wine list / Carta de vinos del Restaurante Alameda

The last sunday by night I went to the downtown of Granada to taste some wines from the wine list of the Alameda Restaurant. Well known for its avant-garde cuisine, I wanted to focus on its quite interesting wine list though.

Among several Riberas and Riojas I found out other Spanish whites and reds deserving of my attention. 

El pasado domingo por la noche fui al Centro de Granada a catar algunos vinos de la carta del restaurante Alameda. Conocido por su cocina de vanguardia, yo quería sin embargo centrarme en su carta de vinos.

Entre varios Riberas y Riojas encontré otros tintos y blancos españoles merecedores de mi atención. 

I tasted the Sierra Cantabria red wine (La Rioja DOP), a dark cherry color wine that shows us sweety and greedy on nose with enveloping aromas of sugarcoated red berries. In mouth we are surprised by its balsamic hints of fresh resin. With correct tannins and a pleasent liquorice aftertaste.

Caté el vino tinto Sierra Cantabria (DOP La Rioja), color rojo picota que se nos muestra dulzón y goloso en nariz con aromas envolventes de frutos rojos confitados. En boca nos sorprenden sus toques balsámicos de resina joven. Con taninos correctos y un agradable retrogusto a regaliz. 

The second one, Glárima from Somontano (Somontano DOP), is a wine that curiously provides little aroma in still glass. When the wine opens, it offers a wide garden full with blue flowers like violets or little blackberries, even hints of undergrowth. It is a full-bodied wine that leaves a nice toffee aftertaste, but I really feel it is more complex on nose than in mouth. 

El segundo, Glárima de Somontano (DOP Somontano) es un wino que curiosamente nos ofrece un escaso aroma a copa parada. Cuando el vino se abre, nos descubre un amplio jardín lleno de flores azules como violetas o pequeños frutos negros, incluso toques de montebajo. Es un vino con cuerpo que nos deja un agradable retrogusto a tofe, pero realmente creo que es más complejo en nariz que en boca.
