Wine and food Show of Granada (Nazaries Hotel) / Salón del Vino y la Gastronomía de Granada (Hotel Nazaríes)

On 9th March it took place the Wine and gastronomy Show of Granada. The setting chosen for the wineries to show us their wines was the Nazaries Hotel. I was kindly surprised by many of them like Antidoto Winery and Dominio de Es from Ribera del Duero with very interesting wines: Roselito, a rosé wine, one of the best rosés I have recently tasted. Or their Antidoto 2014. All of them are little bit expensive wines, but worth tasting. 

El 9 de marzo tuvo lugar el Salón del Vino y la Gastronomía de Granada. El escenario escogido para que las bodegas nos presentaran sus caldos fue el Hotel Nazaríes. Me sentí agradablemente sorprendida por muchos de ellas como las bodegas Antídoto y Dominio de Es de Ribera del Duero con sus interesantes vinos: Roselito, un rosado, uno de los mejores rosados que he probado recientemente. O su Antídoto 2014. Todo ellos un poquito caros, pero que merece la pena probar.

I must admit my weakness for Toro DOP wines so I got close with curiosity to taste the Valdefama Winery wines. Their Matarredonda -four month aged- looked like amazing to me. Altough I usually lean towards wines with less barrel and more fruit, however their 16 month Matarredonda seemed excellent to me. 

Debo admitir mi debilidad por los vinos de la DO de Toro, así que me aproximé con curiosidad para probar los vinos de la bodega Valdefama. Su Matarrendonda de cuatro meses de barrica me pareció fabuloso. Aunque suelo inclinarme por vinos con menos barrica y más fruta, sin embargo su Matarredonda de 16 meses me pareció excelente. 

I would like to mention other wines like Finca Antigua Syrah from Viña Bujanda Winery (La Rioja DOP), astonishing!! 

To make mention of some whites wines, the very unexpensive Sanz wines (Rueda DOP) like their Sanz Clásico (Viura and verdejo grape varieties) and Finca La Colina (100% verdejo). Both of them were excellent. 

Me gustaría mencionar otros vinos como Finca Antigua Syrah de la bodega Viña Bujanda (DOP La Rioja), espectacular.

Por hacer mención de algunos blancos, los muy asequibles vinos Sanz (DOP Rueda) como su Sanz Clásico (Viura y verdejo) y Finca la Colina (100% verdejo). Ambos son excelentes.

Of course, the cavas from Juvé y Camps never dissapoint. Their Milesime cava is simply perfect. 

Last but not least, the commercial director Andrés Soto lavished the Huerta de Albalá wines (Tierra de Cádiz IPG) on us. He offered us their wide selection for the market, a stunning chardonnay, and he also included for the tasting their very awarded Taberner 2006, a courtesy indeed, a very complex wine only for connoisseurs. 

These wines remind me of the charm of Cádiz weather and people, who welcomed me for ten years. 

Por supuesto, los cavas de Juvé y Camps nunca defraudan. Su cava Milesime es sencillamente perfecto.

Por último, pero no menos importante, el director comercial Andrés Soto nos agasajó con sus vinos Huerta de Albalá (IPG Tierra de Cádiz). Nos ofreció su amplia selección para el mercado, un chardonnay sorprendente, y además incluyó en la cata su muy premiado Taberner 2006, realmente todo un detalle, un vino muy complejo sólo para entendidos.

Estos vinos me traen cálidos recuerdos de la gente y la tierra de Cádiz, que me acogió durante diez años.
