New evervinum tasting: wines from abroad / Nueva cata Evervinum: vinos extranjeros

Again Evervinum hosted a new group of wine lovers eager to taste wines from other countries: South Africa, Portugal, Italy, Germany.

De nuevo Evervinum acogió a un nuevo grupo de aficionados al vino deseosos de probar vinos extranjeros: Sudáfrica, Portugal, Italia, Alemania.

María introduced the topic "Foreing wines" using a powerpoint presentation: weather and topography, grape varieties, similarities and differencies between these wines and Spanish ones.

María introdujo el tema "Vinos extranjeros" mediante una presentación de powerpoint: climatología y orografía, variedades de uva, similitudes y diferencias entre estos vinos y los españoles.

The first wine was Cape Spring Pinotage, an aromatic young red from River Valley in Western Cape Region (South Africa). A red made with their specific variety: pinotage. The best start for a lovely meal.

El primer vino fue Cape Spring Pinotage, un joven tinto aromático de River Valley en la región de Western Cape (Sudáfrica). Un tinto elaborado con su variedad propia: pinotage. El mejor comienzo para una estupenda comida.

We went on drinking a vinho verde from the same DOC in Portugal. Fresh, fruity and quite good white paired with our classic vegetable pudding.

Continuamos bebiendo un vinho verde de la misma DOC en Portugal. Un blanco fresco, afrutado y de buena calidad maridado con nuestro clásico budin de verdura.

The main wine was L'atto from Cantine del Notaio winery (DOC Basilicata) in the South of Italy. Made with aglianico variety this wine delighted our customers with its lightness for a red, as well as its tuff tasting. It is the youngest brother of the excellent 96 Parker Il Sigillo but the quality/price ratio of L'atto is absolutely unbeatable. 

El vino principal fue L'atto de la bodega Cantine del Notaio (DOC Basilicata) en el sur de Italia. Elaborado con la variedad aglianico este vino encantó a nuestros clientes con su ligereza para ser un tinto además de su sabor a toba volcánica. Es el hermano más joven del excelente Il Sigillo, 96 puntos Parker, pero la relación calidad/precio de L'atto es absolutamente imbatible.

For the delicious dessert, tiramisu, María had chosen a not very sweet wine from Germany: Liebfraumilch from J. Koll winery in the Mosella Region. Rated under Auslese and Spätlese ones, we could check it is a worthy wine, with quite good aromas and tasting.

Para el delicioso postre, tiramisú, María había escogido un vino semidulce de Alemania: Liebfraumilch de la bodega J. Koll, en la región del Mosela. Considerado por debajo de los Auslese y Spätlese, pudimos comprobar que es un vino digno, bastante bueno tanto en nariz como en boca.

After the meal and wines, we took tea and coffe. Many questions arose from the tasting and María answered all of them introducing our new friends into the amazing wine world little by little. Such was the case that the group made his choice to ask for a regular tasting. Of course María was pleased. 

Tras la comida y los vinos, tomamos té y café. Surgieron muchas preguntas de la cata y María las respondió una por una introduciendo poco a poco a nuestros nuevos amigos en el apasionante mundo. Tanto fue así que el grupo decidió solicitar una cata periódica. Por supuesto María estaba encantada.
