Several single variety wines that represent the character of their landscapes very well: from Ribeira Sacra to Alicante including Rueda and Utiel-Requena. As usual, Evervinum provided the pairing.

The terrace of the hotel is a magical site with a fantastic view over the town. The guests stood in astonishment before the sight.

As usual, María introduced the tasting using a short powerpoint to explain the regions, the varieties and the wineries.

The first wine, a verdejo (Rueda DO) with its yeast, that surprised many of the guests because of its amplitude and character. The winery is Reina de Castilla. Not only was it fresh but intense and with complex notes.
El primer vino, un verdejo (DO Rueda) sobre lías, que sorprendió a la mayoría a causa de su amplitud y personalidad. La bodega es Reina de Castilla. No solo era fresco sino también intenso y con notas complejas.
The second wine, Rectoral de Amandi, a mencia, absolutely representative of Ribeira Sacra. The public remained astonished due to the location of the vineyards, what is called "heroic harvest". An unique wine with the best features of its genuine mencia, unknown for many, that delighted the majority.
El segundo vino, Rectoral de Amandi, un mencía, absolutamente representativo de Ribeira Sacra. El público se quedó asombrado por la situación de las viñas, lo que se conoce como "vendimia heroica". Un vino singular con las mejores características de su genuina mencía, desconocida para muchos, que entusiasmó a la mayoría.

To go on the third wine, Bobal en Calma from Utiel-Requena DO (Valencia), Dominio de la Vega winery, made with bobal variety, a recovered variety with a great future. It was the main wine of the night, a wine with more aging with a short time in barrel with spicies hints and a fleshy, ripe fruit taste for demanding wine lovers.
Para continuar el tercer vino, Bobal en Calma de Utiel-Requena (Valencia), bodega Dominio de la Vega, elaborado con bobal, una variedad recuperada con un gran futuro. Fue el vino principal de la noche, un vino con más crianza con un breve paso por barrica con toques especiados y un paladar carnoso, de fruta madura, para aficionados exigentes.

To pair the dessert, a delicious homemade brownie, we chose a fun sparkling wine, Marina Espumante (Bocopa winery from Alicante DO), with low alcoholic degree. Made with moscatel de alejandría variety, which is a typical Mediterranean variety, with a sweet touch, very fruity and scented.
Para armonizar el postre, un delicioso brownie casero, escogimos un divertido espumoso, Marina Espumante (Bodega Bocopa de la DO Alicante), con una baja graduación. Elaborado con la variedad moscatel de alejandría que es una variedad típica mediterránea, con un toque dulce, muy afrutado y perfumado.
The climax of the night was the "degüelle", the moment when María cut the sparkling bottle neck off using a large knife. It was spectacular, the public clapped enthusiastically. María invited a guest to do the same and he did it bravely.
El punto culminante de la noche fue el "degüelle", el momento en el que María seccionó el cuello de la botella del espumoso con un gran cuchillo. Fue espectacular, el público aplaudió con entusiasmo. María invitó a un asistente a hacer lo mismo y él lo realizó valientemente.
Araceli, the member of the hotel staff in charge of the event, organized a raffle to finish. Evervinum offered a bottle of one of the night wines and the hotel provided two special breakfast for a couple.
Araceli, la persona organizadora del evento por parte del hotel, preparó un sorteo para terminar. Evervinum ofreció una botella de uno de los vinos de la noche y el hotel proporcionó dos desayunos especiales para una pareja.
